The Big Loop, Day 67: Little Bighorn (22 images)

I had wanted to see the Little Bighorn Battlefield a couple of years ago during a shorter road trip. But COVID had shut down so many destinations. So I made sure that my return route on this trip took me past it. And boy was that a good decision.

That battle was so tragic on so many levels. And since headstones have been erected where so many soldiers and natives had fallen, one can get an idea of the chaos. And of all of the death. And of all of the "punishment" that followed. Sad, sad, sad. And wrong. But, just like Gettysburg, it's an important place to visit because of its role in our country's history.
