This post covers two days. On the first, I went on an early evening bird walk with my sister, her two boys, and a bunch of bird-nerds ("birders"). I love being with her hilarious family.
The next morning, I bid goodbye to family and St. Louis and headed east, through southern Illinois. My first stop was at Giant City State Park for a quick, short hike before heading south into Kentucky.
It's still early spring, so the trees still have a ways to go before full-green. But I know I'm seeing beautiful color and getting far better weather than my peeps in northern Utah. So I'm happy! Both experiences, group and solo, were a bunch of fun!
