Banff NP - Peyto Lake (13 images)

Just a ways north of Lake Louise is another gem of nature. An easy hike takes you to an overlook of glacier-fed Peyto Lake. Its clear, bright turquoise color is truly otherworldly. That it is surrounded by majestic peaks, forests of green pines, and accented by huge, billowing clouds, is wonderful icing on that cake. 

After getting my images of it, and hanging around to just experience it some more, I found it difficult to move on to my next stop. If none of the rest of Banff National Park existed, Peyto Lake would itself be drawing millions more awestruck visitors.
