Honor Flight!
What a way to start off my Memorial Day weekend vacation! This morning, I learned that I would be on the same plane as Honor Flight. That is a non-profit organization that takes U.S. military veterans to Washington DC to see memorials and receive further well-deserved honors. I would be flying with vets who served in Korea, Vietnam, and WWII!
It was a special honor to me to be able to meet some true heroes (each one modest to a fault), shake some hands, offer my thanks, hear a few stories and witness all of the hoopla that had been organized for their sendoff. I'm so glad I had my "real camera" with me, and that I got to the airport so early!
Imagine the stories those fifty could tell!
