Road Trip (3 of 4): Custer State Park

Custer State Park, in South Dakota's Black Hills, turned out to be a VERY pleasant surprise to me. I had known almost nothing about it before my trip.

It showcases beautiful mountain scenery and lots of wildlife: Towering granite cliffs, lush pine forests, rolling plains, meadows, hidden lakes. Bison, pronghorn, wild burros, deer, prairie dogs. And terrific camping options!
