Pioneer Days Rodeo (5 of 7) - Injury

The VERY first competitor out of the gate had a successful ride. But then he couldn't get his hand untangled from the horse's rigging. The bronc dragged him around the arena, bucking, wanting him gone. The cowboy was desperately trying to get loose. Finally, the pickup riders were able to control the horse.

But then it went down... ON TOP OF the cowboy. This was pretty horrific to see. It took quite a bit of effort to get the horse off the cowboy. And then untangled. Finally it looked like he could make it out of the arena on his own. But eventually, he needed more help.

Thankfully, he was delivered immediately to the on-site paramedics for whatever care he needed. There is always that risk in rodeo, but nobody wants to see it.
