Abstracting

I love to explore the detail of an object. To reveal its colors and shape, its hidden lines and texture. These are images of my mother's old copper teapot. Those coils are all that is left of a tightly-wrapped handle insulation.

I don't drink from it of course. These days, it serves as an interesting watering can for my plants. And as interesting subject matter for my eye.










I do love the rich copper/brown/green tones of the color images. But since this subject matter is all about shape and texture, I thought a b/w version would be nice. This one is manipulated to look like an old print from film. Very grainy.
