Speed Week 2019

The good news: Today was the start of the annual Speed Week races at the Bonneville Salt Flats. It's a chance to see some really interesting cars going really fast, all against the otherworldly backdrop of all that salt. So my old buddy Colin and I drove out to check it all out.

The bad news: Heavy rains two nights ago throughout northern Utah left way too much standing water on the course. So the races got postponed for two days. No worries, we still got to see a bunch of cars and chat with a bunch of friendly people. Here are a bunch of details from the morning.
