Celebrating Shallow Depth-of-Field

This isn't my favorite ever image. But there is one thing I do love about it - the EXTREMELY shallow depth-of-field. This is a yet-to-ripen blackberry. I'm expecting to enjoy it's tartness in a few days. But tonight, with this image, I am loving how that shallow depth-of-field leaves only one row in sharp focus and the rest out of focus. That's, what, about an 1/8th of an inch? Cool! It makes it feel gigantic!

I'll shoot some more conventional berry photos soon. Until then, I'm loving my little garden. And loving close-up photography.
