Alta's Wildflowers

Little Cottonwood Canyon's Albion Basin annually shows off some of Utah's most spectacular wildflowers. But because of this spring's heavy snows, the peak of that display is still a week or two away.  No matter, that basin is ALWAYS beautiful. Today, while the valley roasted, the air was clean and cool in the mountains. And there were plenty of flowers and other sites to enjoy. So I did.

I'd love to be able to identify all of them. If you can help with names, please leave a comment!

Without my macro lens, I would never have noticed the string of busy ants.

Elephant Flower - Look close and you'll see why it has that name!

At first enjoying how relatively still this Western Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly was, I then spotted the sad reason, a damaged tail.
