IFA Youth Rope-Off

The IFA chain has partnered with the Days of 47 Rodeo to host a youth roping contest. There are preliminary rounds going on throughout northern Utah, with the winners advancing to the big arena during the Days of 47 Rodeo in July. 

Today, I attended one of the "Youth Rope-Offs" and watched these kids (12 and under, boys and girls) compete. It looked like there were some first-time beginners in the mix. But a lot of the kids were pretty skillful. And two of the really talented ropers ended up vying for the title. Fun stuff! 

By the way, there were several rounds of competition today. So you'll see many of the kids appearing in multiple photos.
