2024 Loop, Day 2: Yellowstone

This morning I got on the road way before dawn so I could get to Yellowstone National Park and make the most of its morning. Hayden and Lamar Valleys offered up a lot of wildlife (mostly bison).

The world's very first national park was a fantasy world this morning (as always): Sunrise, steam vents, mud pots, the smell of sulphur, pine trees, mountains, leaves just beginning to change colors, valleys, modest crowds, winding rivers, free-roaming wildlife. (No geysers because I am avoiding the south end of the park.) I'm hoping to photograph a wider range of wildlife tomorrow - we shall see...

Spending time in Yellowstone is such a recharging experience for me. I should come back more often!

Wow! The morning fog/mist made for some really beautiful pictures!
